Motherwell have reportedly made their stance over Lennon Miller’s immediate future amid fierce transfer deadline day speculation.
Miller is arguably the best young talent in Scotland and shone for the Steelmen this season before picking up a nasty ankle injury which he is still recovering from.
The teenage midfielder has made 26 appearances in all competitions, scoring two goals and providing six assists so far. He’s also captained the Scotland U19s in two matches.
Miller’s displays have alerted some of the biggest clubs in Britain. All of Southampton, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Arsenal have been credited with an interest this season.
News surrounding Miller’s future was quiet at the start of the January window but last week, reportage burst into life when Motherwell rejected a measly £2.5m bid from Udinese.

Motherwell don’t want to sell Lennon Miller until summer
The Fir Park club seek a record transfer fee for Miller. And it’s been revealed that it could take more than £4m to prise him out of Lanarkshire.
That claim was made today by 67 Hail Hail, who are also reporting that it is unlikely Miller will move away from Motherwell before tonight’s transfer deadline at 11pm GMT.
Celtic were said to have joined the race to sign Miller, but cold water has been poured on that. In fact, Motherwell ‘will wait until the summer to explore their options’ regarding Miller.
Miller is contracted at Motherwell until the summer of 2026 and it appears the Premiership club will cash in when he has just one year left on his deal to go.
Motherwell have Miller ‘plan’
Stuart Kettlewell is now no longer Motherwell manager after he shocked the country by handing in his resignation last Monday.
But Kettlewell did stress days before leaving his position that Motherwell have a plan for Lennon Miller, who is statistically one of the top seven players in world football for his age, according to Fir Park CEO Brian Caldwell.
Kettlewell said: “It’s not the value of the bidding club, it’s the value of the club that own the player and have their registration, that’s the most important part of it.
“We’ve always had a plan not just for Lennon, but several other players that have been sold. We’re unified with that, as well, it’s not as if one or two of us are sitting there with a different thought process. We’re really comfortable in that situation.
“There are no issues with Lennon. The relationship between myself, Lennon, his family, his representative is a really good one, and we’re all on the same page with everything that’s going on.”
